Caledon Camp.
Caledon camp was built at the beginning of ww2 in an area at the top of Caledon main street and to the right just off the main street itself in an area call the Orchard.
The field itself belonged to Lady Alexander and she lived in Alexander House on the Main street, as you can see on the above picture the bases of the Nissen Huts were still there up until about 15 years ago and the late Lady Jane had them lifted because she kept Horses then.
If you look top centre you will see a white bungalow, just above it you will see a little square building, that was the Cookhouse for the Camp area.
Below you will see photographs i took 20 odd years ago of the Bases of the Nissen huts before they were lifted.
